Bad pcm? 2004 ford ranger 4.0
I have read a lot of forums on here related to no crank no start situations. Mine is similar to most it started randomly one day when driving to work and my engine just stalled randomly. I pulled over and was able to start backup drive a 1/2 mile and it stalled again this time no crank no start. I had my dad pull me home and found that when hitting bumps it would start and stall. Went home plugged my scanner into it and had no pcm communication. I wanted to make sure it was the pcm so i started testing pcm powers and grounds. However just letting it sit every now and then it would start fine and pcm would communicate like normal. Then stall when I slammed something or bounced off rev limiter lol. I checked all my fuses and relays and grounds. All seem okay I even went as far to repin my pcm power pins and it started after doing that and ran good until I slammed the hood then it stalled and went back to no crank at this point I’m gonna try a pcm I’m hoping forscan can reprogram a used pcm with matching part numbers. Any ideas here if the pcm doesn’t fix it. Pats light is all over the place however it never flashes rapidly so I know my keys are good sometimes the light flashes slow and with key on or off and sometimes it doesn’t flash at all. Any ideas if pcm doesn’t work thanks?
