2001 2WD 2.3 Brakes

2001 2WD 2.3 Brakes
I have a vibration when I brake (seemingly from the front). It does not pull left nor right. I replaced the front pads and the rotors. The pads I bought at Advance - Thermo Quiet Wagner MX652 with built in shims. I'm wondering if there is any other hardware that needs to be installed. Clips or anything. None came with the pads. I went to Autozone and they sold me a hardware kit that they said should be installed but then I went back over to Advance and they said that there is NO hardware kit that should be installed. When I took the old pads off, there was no hardware but I can't be 100% sure because I had a friend helping and he's the one that actually took them off. He said there wasn't but... Any ideas??? Oh and hopefully this is the right place to post

I wouldn't say its hardware up front. Maybe the slides if they need replaced then of course your spindle nut and stuff. Look at these p ictures.
Oh, and did you replace the bearings??

I did replace the bearings. One thing I should note is that when my friend put the new rotors on he used the old bearings and when he tightened the spindle nut he really cranked it down. Anyway I knew it didn't come off like that so I took it off and hand tightened it as hard with my fingers as I could. Then I drove to the auto store and bought new bearings packed them and put everything back together.
What are sliders?
It looks like from the picture it doesn't have any hardware around the brakes. But also the rotor is not correct. The one for my truck has the posts or studs whatever you call it built in.
According to most places I've looked up on ANYTHING about my truck in 2001 Ford changed so many things on it, it's just ridiculous (placement of thermostat for one) and made it a pain in the 4$$

also I saw this but do not know if it's correct. and my haynes manual says if your truck comes with *whatever hardware*(can't remember of the top of my head) then take it off and put it back on or something like that - so it doesn't even say that yes indeed it is supposed to.

Right woops, that first link is for a 4wd.
The sliders are the part of the caliper that lets it slide with the piston and puts pressure on the pads.
in 2001, ford up'd the rotor diameter to 11.2in and half way through the year it they switched to the 2.3duratec motor.
Definityl be careful with that spindle nut and setting in the bearings.

And those little boots are for the slides, might need replacing, but i'd definitely lube them up.

Im going to say yes then. They are what holds the pads in the caliper brackets.

wow thank you for that link!! it's exactly like my setup. he's not using any hardware though so now i don't know what to do. i still have the problem with what to look at next with the vibration.
ok so here's another thing: after we put everything back together the left anti-lock brake would come on. i figured it might be a wheel speed sensor gone bad (which i guess would be pretty coincidental i know so maybe i'm wrong) and no big deal and i decided i really didn't need ABS anyway so i just pulled the fuse. is there anything with that, that could cause something?

When i have replaced my rotors, i have had to swap the stock abs tone ring onto the new rotors. For some reason, the aftermarket abs tone rings are different in some way that throws the abs to work. That would be your problem.
For vibrations, check your ball joints and tie-rod ends. They might need replacing. Or maybe even an out of balance wheel.
