Blend Door Wiring Harness

I just purchased an EATC set up from a 99 explorer, and it didn't come with a blend door actuator, so i bought one online from a ford website that said it was for a 98-08 explorer with eatc. I overlooked the fact that i am going to need the connector that goes into the blend door. Does anyone have one of these or know where i can get one? Or it might be possible to fab one up ? I am not sure. If you have an idea please throw it out there.

I wish I could help you, Robert... the "complete EATC setup" I bought included two vacuum harnesses, but only one wiring harness for the blend door. If I had an extra, it'd be yours. :/ Sorry... I guess you need to scavenge a few more junkyards.

You can modify the blend door connector from non-EATC units, but the colors won't be right. I did that on one I put in when I was lacking the proper connector. You have to move some pins around.

Best bet is haunt a JY until you find one if you want the color code to be right.

do you know off hand how many pins are on the connector itself. If there is four pins on the ATC blend door and four pins on the MAN blend door I should be alright. If i needed for example a pink wire that was the second one in on the ATC wiring, then i could just use the wire in the same spot on the MAN wiring? I think this should work, but i am not sure. The pins may not be the same function on each one either?? Seems like it should not be too bad.

edit: i just looked at a picture on your car domain how to john, and it looks like 5 wires, and im not sure what a manual one looks like.

I believe that's a 5 or 6 pin (6 pin I think) connector. I know that on some designs fewer pins are used than on others. The "basics" are always the same and there are unneeded hookup wires on the system generally. I think I talked about that somewhere in there. Sorry, I'd have to go back and read it myself -- it's been a couple of years since I put one in now.

ok, so i if i can identify the pins by a picture or wiring diagram i should be ok then. If the basics are the same and the MAN connector will plug into the ATC blend door i can add pins where needed for the ATC wires.

Yes. If you get really lost I'll go pull my connector out and photograph it for you.
