On Board Air

Alright guys, its time for me to start thinking of my next big purchase, i didnt see a thread dedicated to OBA when i searched. My over all goal is to figure out wether its worth getting a whole OBA set up, or just get a CO2 tank..

My goal is to have 2, 5 gallon tanks, be able to run air tools, impact, chisel w/e else... and i also want to fill my tires in a reasonable amount of time.

Next, the list of stuff i compiled that im pretty sure i would need:
Electric Air Compressor
2 5 gallon air tanks
Distribution Block
Check Valve
Pressure Switch
Coiled Hose - 25 ft
Other hose - ? ft
All the fittings

Questions:
>What kind of line should I use to run from the compressor to the distribution block, then to the tanks?
>Then what kind of line from the tanks to where ever i have it come out, im thinking one of the corners of the bed?
>Where should i mount the compressor? pics please

OR i could run something like this
http://www.4wheelparts.com/PDT264891.aspx

i still have questions/want opinions on where to mount the compressor, air tanks,(will probably get a 5 gallon?) idk...

Other side, who thinks i should get the whole air system, vs who thinks i should get likea 15lb CO2 tank? i cant run out of air with the compressor, but the tank is much easier to mount, use and costs about $100 less...

Next question... CFM what kind of rating should i look for to fill up my 35x12.50 tires from say 10-35 psi in a reasonable amount of time?

Im sure i will think of more questions, but thats all i have for now..

-Matt

Best place to put your compressor would be in your toolbox. I think buying a kit would be the easiest way to go but you could probably build your own kit and save a little bit of money. You don't need a compressor as heavy-duty as that one you found. And 4wheelparts will rip you off on it too. I looked into it a little bit for the zuk but decided to worry about it a little further down the road.

to run air tools off a 12 volt compressor you going to be spending about $1000 just on the compressor because most do not have the cfm required. If you don't have a winch and are thinking about getting one why not save a little longer and get one of the new Warn winches that has a compressor built in and is designed to run air tools.

i have a winch laying in my garage (for a year) haha, i just need to get that biach mounted, or get a front reciever.. or better yet, go make a bumper
i was hoping 2, 5 gallon tanks would hold enough for me to run air tools... i know i couldn't run em constantly..

i also need a regulator dont i?
anddd, anyone know the cfm the warn power plant puts out? ill do a little more research in a minute

So if you can't run air tools off of a normal compressor, could u run an air tool for a short period of time off of the tank that the air compressor fills?

I would also like to know this. I have a 4500 PSI, 68ci compressed air tank that I use for paintball, I would think this tank would hold enough to fill one tire (33x12.5 or so) to 30 psi.? How would the math work for that?
