Truck Won't Start...Help!

I have a 2000 Ford Ranger 2.5L 5 speed. I am in college and do not use the truck on a daily basis. The last time I drove my truck was 2 weeks ago. Today, I needed to use it and could not get it started. I had a buddy help me jump start it, but no luck. All the lights, dash, radio, heat, and A/C work, but it won't start the motor. I would turn the key to start it and only get a "click". While connected with the jumper cables, the battery meter gauge was in the normal position. Any ideas, guys? Is it the starter that went bad?

Sounds like a starter to me. Try tapping it a couple of times with a hammer and see if you can get it to start then.
