When is it on? I know when it's in the A/C setting and defrost but any other times? I thought I had it on just vent today. I had it on the floor/dash setting. I stopped at the bank and when I came out there was a small puddle under the right side where the condenser is. I also think I heard the clutch clicking on and off a few times.

 

The only time your compressor isnt on is when you are using the upper vents only. In any other position, the compressor will cycle on/off.

 

Many of us wire in defeat switches. The purple wire coming out of your heater controls is the one which turns on the AC compressor. Put a switch in line with it and you can disable it when you want.

When I do the EATC mod, I use the rear fan output on the EATC head to control a relay so the compressor can be disabled by selecting "Rear Fan Off" on the Explorer EATC head. More details in teh EATC how-to on my cardomain site.

I am having a similar problem with my A/C. The compressor is running in every setting on the dial except OFF. I was thinking about doing the A/C switch mod, but I am not sure it will work because it is running all the time. Any help is greatly appreciated.
