A/C an option in 94'?

A/C an option in 94'?
I've been working to figure out our 94 Ranger's A/C over the last few days because now it is barely working at all.
After a trip to a local salvage yard it seems nothing on our trucks AC matches up with any of the trucks in the salvage yard. My theory now is that this truck must not have come with A/C from the factory and someone installed an aftermarket system of there own.
Can anyone confirm that in 94' A/C would be an option?
The truck was originally purchased in Massachusetts.
