I have a 2003 3.0L Ranger that I need to replace the fuel pump relay on; however, i can't pull the relay out. I tried pliers but all that did was pull the plastic cover off the relay leaving the guts behind. I don't see any type of retainer. Any ideas or hints?

No retainer

Reads like AMP draw has partially "welded" contacts to relay tabs, or corrosion

Unhook the battery, there is FULL TIME POWER on one of the relays contacts

And then get it out anyway you can, break it apart and have some needle nose pliers to pull out the tabs/pins

You can get Relay Pullers, they are like needle nose pliers with hooks on the ends to slide under the relay's base

Or try to make something similar
