power window glitches...

My drivers side window started acting up today. I started to put the window down then it stopped. I kept hitting the button as if the button was worn/broken but i could here the relay clicking.

So I start pushing and moving the window in the track its not jambed, but finally it started moving. Then it worked fine, up, down, etc...

Then it locked up about half way up later in the day. Any ideas? Motor? Relay? Switch? what should I check?

take the panel with the switch off and jumper a wire over to see if its the switch.

it could be a bad motor.

sounds like a motor. That is what my car did and it is the motor. It worked like that for a while, then one day just stopped; luckily it was up!

I have noticed my driver side window goes up slower than the passenger. Are Drivers side windows prone to failing over time?

I woudl guess they are used more, and thus they would die sooner.

i agree, sounds like the motor. put some KY in it.

This was a real common problem on Rangers/F-Series(windows sticking)....Ford used Krytox 4906 to cure the problem

Do one window at a time when rolling up or down, if you do them both at the same time it uses more juice. :P
