dash light issue

alright first off, i know this forum group is for rangers, but......my mom drives a jeep grand cherokee and i was drivign it today because my clutch master is currently being fixed and her dash lights fade and brighten when bumps are hit, i know it doesnt bother her because she is used to it, but it bugged the hell outta me, so i was wonderin where to find the short at, assuming this is caused by a short somewhere of course......where would i begin looking?

Check the connectors on the back of the gauge cluster. Could possibly be a faulty dash dimmer switch as well.

im pretty sure it's the switch, now that i think about it, whenever you hold down the switch a little bit, but not enough to dim the lights, the brighten right up, but when you let go, they go dim..............thanks
