Diode for efan?

Any of you efan guys running a diode from the power wires (Low and High) to a ground?

I have an LED indicator at the low speed relay to light up when the fan is powered up. Problem is that the LED also lights up when the high speed relay is powered and the low speed shouldnt. Keep in mind the LED isnt hooked up to the high speed relay, just the low. I have a 3 position toggle that SHOULD kill power to low when switched to high speed. Would a diode fix this?

I have not done this but I have heard that a diode will cure that problem.

I got (2) 1N5404 diodes and will install one on each power lead tomorrow. Driving down the freeway with the fan off, the LED lights up so Im assuming the fan's generating some power and feeding it back.

You should only need one diode on the positive wire.
