i love my 8000k hid bulbs they are not to blue well to me there extreamly white on the ground accept for the outter edges and from far away driving at it you can see the blue tint to it. it is not like deep blue but id call it like an ice blue kinda thing.
the 6000k and below is for real driving
8000+ is for ppl who want a little color to it for looks so its kinda up to u waht u really want

Once you go above 6k you're really starting to negate any of the advantages that HIDs give. The actual amount of light output starts to drop off in the 8k+ bulbs.
The optimal range for light output is the 4300-5000k. Those will be the purest and brightest lights. If you want a little color and still have light output better than standard halogen, go with 6000k. Anything above that and all you're really doing is spending $100+ for silly colored lights.

ur right the brightness does drop off a little but my hid's will outpower any halogen hands down with blue color. i might change to 10k next for the color.
i always have ppl giving me the middle finger or sticking there heads out the windows lipping swairs to me HAHAHA on the lowest settings so ill never have regular halogen lights again.
