door ajar! door ajar! door ajar!
door ajar! door ajar! door ajar!
well... for the last couple of months ive been driving with the door ajar light on. ive tried shutting all doors and making sure nothing is in the way, but the light just wont go off. any suggestions?
have you reset the battery yet?
unhook the negative, leave it for a good 30 mins, reconnect it. doesnt seem like it hsould work, but sometimes it does, and its worth a shot, other than that, id say its the sensor, i think its actually in the latch in the ranger

my check engine light still hasnt come on with my cats being gone for a few months. the light works too. i think the guy slipped in some simulators for free or somethin. the guy thats done my exhaust twice is cool either way.
Use a good penetrating spray in the latch......open and close the door a few times and your problem should be gone.......worked for me!
I am also having issues with my 01 4x4 ranger. The door ajar dash light and lamp kept going off when making left turns or when passenger put any weight against the door. I figured something was loose, but everything seems good, the door shuts/latches tight. I sprayed wd40 with no success. I wouldn't think the sensor is bad because it ONLY goes off when the is outward force on the door. Has anyone else had this problem?
Ok, I know this is an old thread but I am having the same problem. I did a search and found this thread. (Three cheers for not starting another thread on the same problem!!).
What I am not sure of is where exactly do you spray the lubricant. I don't see the little button in the door jamb that usually operates the "door ajar" light. I did see a little black thing on the door but am not sure if that is it.
Can someone take a photo and point to where I need to spray the lube? That would be helpful and much appreciated.
Thank you
