light switch in door latch

light switch in door latch

well my lights are staying on when the door is shut and im guessing its the switch inside the latch... sooo my question is where exactly is the light switch so i can spray some contact cleaner in it

It's literally right in the latch in the door. With the window UP, spray all around the inside of the latch and that usually does it.

Oh, you lazy boy! Get your butt up and get a job and go buy yourself a service manual!

Will, it's in the friggin' door where the latch is that contacts the post on the door frame -- the thing that holds your door closed. I just don't think you need a picture to find it!

yeah i could have looked on my service cd but its missing somewhere in my stack of cd's and i didnt feel like digging for it

It doesnt take all that much. Just One shot (half a second) of lubricant.

It actually came back to haunt me one year later.

well it seems to be fixed now so hopefully i wont have to deal with this again for a while
