door light on wont stop comming on

Every time i hit a bump or turn a cornor my door light and comes on and it beeps, there are no doors open and even when i get out and shut all four it will just turn right back on. Has anybody ever had this problem and what can i do. Also is there a fuse that i can take out that will disable that feature.

I had the same problem. The rear doors don't latch on the bottom sometimes. open the front doors and pull on the bottom of the rear doors and make sure there latched all the way. If thats not it, it might be a bad connectin in the door switch.

Wasnt there a recall on the door switches a few years back? I had a 1998 and it did that and the dealer told me it was a faulty switch.

The problem is in the door latch. on the newer rangers they dome light control is part of the bear claw latch in the door. if you take and use brake parts cleaner and shoot it in the latch of the door to clean it out then shoot silicone lube in there after it dries this should fix the problem.

Good luck.
