Drum brake operating temps

Just changed the drums, shoes, and all the hardware on my 09. Adjusted the brakes up nicely so they just slightly drag and they work great. Temps seem high though. After a 30 minute highway drive with some moderate stops the surface temp of the top of drums is between 180-215 degrees F. (Measured with an infrared thermometer.) No wheel bearing issues, temps are drastically cooler towards the hub.

is this normal? Never really checked drum brake temps before but I had my thermometer with me so figured why not...
