2 questions...maybe 3
Ok, no searching on this one.
Truck is driving normally for the first 1 /12hours of pretty flat driving. Start getting into the mountains and shifting down, up, all around frequently to try and maintain speed, which is still normal driving. Engine is working very hard. Reach the top of the mountain and it is evident that the engine does not have to work hard anymore...probably heading at a decline now. Then the "CE" light comes on. Stays on until motor is shut off for a couple of min. then is off.
This has happened on two separate occasions on two separate mountain ranges.
Without knowing the code, what do you think? 10points to whomever gets it right (i don't know the answer either.)
*I'll pull the codes soon (maybe)...I just know there is more then a couple of codes stored so it will be hard to know what is what.
Next question...Front brakes where done on the truck the day before I bought it. Something goes "clunk" when driving slow and appling the brakes. I am almost positive that it is the calipers rotating with the rotor as it has about a 1/2inch of play. Normal or not? I wouldn't think so but don't remember seeing anything wrong when I looked at it a long time ago.
**just thought i would give you guys something to mull over.
Last question is...I searched but can't find any decent upholstery links. Looking for an OEM replacement for my bench seat. Thou I'm not sure what the best way to fix the seat is. Pretty sure the springs and stuff are broken, probably needs new foam to. Might not even be worth fixen.

It's got it's problems...but never noticed anything out of the ordinary.
I used a half can of brake cleaner looking for vac leaks awhile ago. Never found anything, don't know if I missed something thou.
Has alway stumbled a little at idle.
*I'll pull the wheels off this weekend and have another look.

on the first part may need to clean the AIC sensor and MAF sensor.....but YOU WILL HAVE TO PULL THE CALIPER BOLTS ONE AT A TIME AND THREAD LOCK'EM....LOL!!! alot of guys here have had that prob including me except i was doing about 35mph and the bottom bolt came out of the caliper and chewed up the inside of my rim!!
first this will happen!!
and resulting to this!! lol!!

1st update...Brakes.
Took off the wheels and had a look. Figured out that I don't have regular bolts (like Earl said). Everything looks solid and couldn't figure it out. Thought since Les Swab did the work...took it there. They checked everything out and wasn't sure. The mechanic took me out to the shop floor and blah..blah...we figured out it is probably something like the radius arm bushings. At $243.xx to replace...i don't think so. I'm just trying to keep her comfortable in her old age until I have to put her down.
Oil change done..pulling codes now...
Edit..since I don't want to keep bumping this.
