the fan resistor has blown out in my ranger twice now so that the fan only blows on high. these resistors that mount on the AC Box in the engine compartment and the circuts in there break... any idea on how to prevent this they are over $30 each to replace and break after a couple of months?

 

Uh Oh... my fan blows the same on the first and second speed. For $30 to fix it I will just forget about 2nd speed, especialy if it will probably break again.

 

Make sure there isn't a bunch of crap in there causing it to burn. Like leaves or dust and stuff. I've never taken mine out but I seem to remember it could be vulnerable. Also make sure it is sealed up good and not getting water in it.
