Flex Fuel Module

Does anyone know how to disable the flex fuel module connector. A friend has a FFV and the module is causing the check engine light to light. The research I have done claims that gasoline causes a low frequency signal to the PCM, where Ethanol causes a high frequency. Is there a way to wire say an resistance/ capacitance circuit to trick the PCM that the vehicle is always running on gas which is the only fuel the truck will be running on? The Ranger is a 2000 model year. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

sounds like that sensor is just broken, ive never run e85 on my FFV and never had a check engine light because of that...

Most newer s don't even have the sensor anymore. They determine fuel type differently.

A Ford flex fuel sensor gives off a frequency signal in any event, which is why nobody has yet been able to devise a "workaround" in the manner you suggest (to my knowledge).
