Fog Light Problem. Need Help!

Howdy everyone,

So here's the verdict... I have a 2001 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 v6 4.0. One day the fog lights went out. The button(green light) in my cab wouldn't light up either. I checked the fuse, looked fine, replaced it anyway. Still not working. Bought brand new bulbs.... Fog lights worked. Parked my truck, headed out few hours later... Pressed fog light button in cab, it lit up for 2 seconds then went out. Fog lights not working again. Anyone have an idea of what's going on? Bad wiring? Alternator? Please help.

Sounds like a short somewhere in the wiring. Are the filaments of the new bulbs damaged?

Check the wiring for any bare spots.

Filaments look good. I'll check the wiring. Thanks for the input!

there is also a relay too in your main power distribution box under hood. swap one from another circuit if you can't find a obvious short in wiring.
