Is the same fluid that is used for the rear ie: API GL-5 SAE 90 HYPOID gear lub, the same for the front? I know this sounds like a stupid question but I want to be absolutley sure. Also the enertia switch electrical connector located behind the kick panel on the pax side, which one is it? There appears to be several connections, the manual is not clear on which is the exact one to disconnect to relieve the fuel pressure. Thanx for any help.

if your truck is 2wd then you dont have a axle in the front to put fluid in
are you changing the fuel filter is that why you want to relive fuel pressure?
the switch in the kick panel just kills power to the fuel pump
if you changing the fuel filter just pull the lines no matter what you do its a messy job
or in the engin compatment on the fuel rail there is a valve stem (looks like a tire valve stem)you could relive pressure there if you really wanted just make sure its a fuel and not a a/c line
even if you do that its still going to be messy

 

Normally the fuel shut off switch is a red rubber button about an inch in diameter.

 

Thank you silverfox I appreciate your reply. Yes I'm changing the fuel filter, so I don't have to worry about the switch behind the panel? Also if I pull the lines will I have to plug them some how or just some residual fuel will come out and thats it?

 

Ok I'm rdy, tomorrow morning bright and early the Auto Hobby shop on base will be open, and I begin 1. changing spark plugs 2. change tranny fluid and differential, rotate ties and the change fuel filter....then I'm Haze Grey and underway. Thanx U 2 for the advice.

 

you dont have to plug the lines just remmber they are under pressure and when you unhook them fuel is going to spray everywhere after that they will just drip wear some form of eye protection gas in your eyes hurts and have the new filter down there ready to go so you dont make as much of a mess

 

Release the fuel pressure by pushing in the Schrader valve on the fuel rail.
