i have a 94 ranger 2wd 4.0 5 speed last week i started it up it ran for about 30 sec and died wouldnt restart checked fuel at pressure release valve had none the pump was not coming on with the key so started with the relay still nothing checked the inertia switch wasnt tripped and is good so changed the pump and i still have nothing hooked pump directly to battery and it runs so i know the pump is good any suggestions???

 

Did you check the connections at the pump for corrosion? Might be as simple as a broken wire somewhere too..
