Gas Leak

I have a 1995 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0. When I fill the truck with gas, it leaks directly across from were you fill it. Towards the center of the truck. It comes out pretty good than stops, until I fill it up again. Does anybody else have this problem, if so any advice how to fix it.

There are a few hoses that can leak when tank is full and any one of them can crack, so no specific answer can be given, and really doesn't matter because the work that needs to be done to find out where the leak is is the same for all leak points as you described it

You will need to lift off the bed, or tilt it up

6 bolts hold the bed to the frame, need T-55 torx, and breaker bar
3 screws hold filler neck, phillips
Then there is a couple of connectors in the rear for the tail lights if removing bed or sliding it back

If you remove the 4 front bolts and then loosen the two rear bolts you can tip the bed up and hold it up with 2x4s or ???

Bed bolts have two lengths, 2 front are the longer ones, rear 4 are the same but shorter than front.

Other option is to drop the gas tank, but quite frankly unless you have a lift and a transmission jack it is a pain to get it back in.

This thread has images, that still work, lol, for removing bed on a 1995 Ranger, and what you will see: How To: Ranger Fuel Filler hose Swap and Bed Removal | Ford Explorer and Ford Ranger Forums - Serious Explorations

Is there any quick fix. I had 3/4 of a tank and put 30.00 in it filled is but it didn't click off. NO LEAK. The only time it leaks is if I let the pump click off. Hopfully this will narrow it down a little bit. Because its a 1995 and a lot of rust on the frame.

There are two fuel lines, one EVAP line, the filler and vent hoses, and the fuel pump access plate o-ring, that are all at the top of the tank and 1 or more could be leaking, so take your pick

Only "fix" without pulling the bed or the tank is do not fill it up, obviously not a fix, lol
