Gauge cluster swap?

Does anyone know if the older gauge clusters will fit into the newer Rangers? The newer ones seem plain and don't look as nice IMO.

Furthermore, will the electrical plugs work correctly?
Also, is the mileage stored in the instrument cluster or in the vehicles computer?

I've swapped a cluster in my mustang (4-gauge to 6-gauge) and I had to wait two years to get the mileage to be spot on.

RiggerWings,
Sorry for bringing this thread back to life BUT I was wondering...

1) Years you were talking about ?

2) Why did it take two years to get the Cluster Milage setup ?

Thanks/Ltr
