"Glass Cockpit"...
"Glass Cockpit"...
Anyone know of a supplier that builds/sells Digital Instrument Panels specifically for 2002 Ranger Edge. Right now I have a stock panel. I would like to get one in grey or black that displays, numerically, speed, volts, oil pressure, and fuel level. I'd also like to get one w/trip computer. Distancs, fuel remaining, miles of range left, odometer.... I would lke to find one that does NOT have a tachometer. Or...has anyone built one from scratch as a DIY Project?
Thanks...
Thanks...
Fuel remaining will be hard as most of that is calculated by PCM which i don't think the 3.0 ever came in anything with that feature but i know the 94 grand marquis had that option and you could probably mod that cluster to fit your truck assuming you could get a pinout of all the wires. However the oil pressure is just an idiot gauge doesn't read true pressure so you'd have to do the mod to get a true reading but fuel level and volts should be easy enough. Good luck!
At first, all I thought about was aviation..... LOL.
I've never seen anyone attempt it on an otherwise stock truck. Usually folks who swap in a carbureted engine or a 5.4 or 4.6L have to do new gauges and that opens the options. I've seen aftermarket units that turns all guages into an iPod....can't remember the companies whom did it though, but they're out there. But fitting it into a Ranger gauge cluster is a difficult task.
However, there are supplemental gauges companies that make pretty nifty trick gadgets that work in addition to your factory gauges.
