got pulled over!!!

Well i got pulled over the other day because of my brake lights/blinkers. Well the cop had me test them to see what was exactly happening so here it is if you figure this one out it will be greatly appreciated. Both blinkers work front and bake on left and right if i am either given the truck gas or coasting however when i hit the brakes both of the rear blinkers come on. If i am turning left the left one blinks and the right one stays on. if i am turning right both just stay on and neither blink this is why i got pulled over. so i am assuming this must be a short any help is appreciated.

That must've been an interesting stop... did he ask, "do you know why I pulled you over?"

I think something like that would be a relay thing, but I'm not very well educated in that field.

First check your bulbs. Might be worth to have a set of brand new bulbs too to ensure a burned out filament isn't giving you grief (or in case one dies in the near future, you got a replacement right there).

Then check wiring. Chances are someone might have butchered some wiring, especially if the truck has been through a few owners.

Do you have a haynes or ford shop manual for your truck? Would help you do continuity tests to see if wires just got crossed somewhere.
