guys w/o tow hooks.

Where are we suppose to put recovery straps?

-the bumper, will probably end up tweaked if used
-the front bumper is 80% plastic so yeah thats not gonna work
-the suspension components just sound like a bad idea

Get a front hitch! Stronger than tow hooks and easy to put in, much more versatile as well.

I'd rather just pay $50 and get some OEM hooks...

my dad got stuck this morning and he called me to see if I could help, but then he was asking do you have any recovery points, I told him no and he said well I'll get someone else cause he got his F250 stuck...he ended up getting a tractor...

Being a Sport don't you have the front cross-member? Just pick up a set of hooks. I'll give you a decent deal on mine if you want em.

I didnt know that the newer rangers came w/o tow hooks in the front...

Also if you dont have rear hitch or dont want a rear hitch get a LII rear tow hook

Ben, he's a 2wd. They don't come with hooks. XLT's and whatnot don't have the front cross-member where Cody's Sport does. No cross-member means no place to put the hooks.

I would rather see you get a front hitch if you actually plan on pulling people out.

For the rear, a hitch also. You can get the L11 rear hook, but they are incredible hard to find (worse than the L11 stainless front hooks). I know because i have one

If you use your front tow hooks, this is what happens:

get hook and drill a hole in the frame to mount them. My first truck was a '91 chevy ith tow hooks. When I finally blow here up I pulled the hooks before I sold it and I was able to find somewhere to put them on every truck I owned after that untill I got the ranger that came with it's own.

That video is funny as hell. No reason yank it that hard though.

He has the front crossmember but the holes aren't pre-drilled. They stopped that in 04, the Edge and Sport come with the crossmember, its the coil spring 2wd that don't.

lmfao no need to pull that hard are fast and if people would use both hooks insted of putting from one and center the pull the hooks are pretty strong ive used mine many times. and even yanked on em and never pulled the cross member off.

Thats what happens when you try to recover someone while doing 20 MPH, the same thing would happen if you have a front hitch. If you watch the video you will see that the frame sheered not the tow hooks.
