Headlight Lens Question

How are you guys seperating the headlight lenses to paint the chrome? I had an 01 yamaha r6 i molded some cougar projectors in but i had to use a heat gun... i didnt want to distort the lenses on my truck!!!

check the how to's on this forum, there is one they put them in the oven at like 350 or something to that effect.

I think you might be in a bit of trouble at 350F. This How-to suggests careful heating for about 15 min @ 200F:
