Heater acting weird

Man I hate this stupid *** truck. First time I've used the heat in about a year last night and when I stop at a light the heat would blow cold air instead of heat, once I start going again it works fine. Any ideas?

yeah thats what I was thinking too, I need to look. The truck idles smooth and it still switches though the different modes fine at idle so it must not be too big of a leak if thats what it is.

Does the vehicle overheat? If so, then it is most likely a bad water pump impeller. If not, is the coolant low? If the system is full then you have a couple of options. Vacuum leak or restricted heater core.

Never overheated, coolant temp is always in the 190's I think? Coolant shouldn't be low but I'll go move my truck and check that right now.
