Heater Core Wire? Maybe something else
Heater Core Wire? Maybe something else
Hi everyone and thanks for your help in advance! I recently purchase a 1998 Ford Ranger 2.5 from California since it was rust free everywhere. Super clean truck with no hints of rust on frame, chassis, rockers, wheels wells, etc...118K miles on it. I was doing a radiator flush, oil change, new thermostat, etc... When I was removing the thermo
stat housing, I took the hose off. As I followed it back, I noticed what appears to be a clipped wire. I am not sure exactly what it is. I looked through my haynes manual and I am still coming up empty. Attached is a pic and any help would be much appreciated! So I removed the heater control valve, but have no idea where this red wire, the seems clipped, would go. One end looks like a wire as seen, when I pop it off, it looks like a small hose. I guess it's the vacuum hose that connects somewhere on the passenger side firewall. Looks like a wire from the initial pic.
