Help with audio system
So I have two Boston Pro 60 component speakers in a box behind my seat since they sounded bad in the doors (way too much distortion because they're too powerful for non-sound proofed doors) hooked up to the back of an aftermarket headunit via an amp.
So my problem is this. I had originally had them installed in the doors with (i believe) new wiring ran from the amp. Then I took them out, built the box and put the stock speakers in the front doors. I removed the stock rear speakers. During installation I was listening to music via the front stock door speakers. Then I turned off the truck, hooked up the box in the rear and the front speakers no longer made sound.
What caused the front speakers to stop getting power (even though i hooked them back up to stock wiring) and how do I get them working again?

So you have the RCAs running from the back of the headunit to the amp for the components? Are you sure you didn't plug those RCAs into the front speaker pre-out thus turning the actual wires for the front speakers off?
Are you saying that I plugged em into something to do with the front speakers, so i'm stealing the front speakers signal/power? Would the proper thing to do is try to hook up the RCAs to the rear speaker ports?
I am not good with audio but if you have an amp doesn't all of the speakers hook up to it ?
And wouldn't the head unit turn off the other speakers so it won't have too much output when the amp was connected ?
Again, I do not know I am just asking ?

The amp hooks up to however many speakers it is built for as well as what you have. My box has 2 component speakers that hook up to the amp, so 2 channels. It is a 2 channel amp so I couldnt do more. And the output of the head unit isn't affected by the amp. I get confused by sound system junk a bit.
Anyways, I didn't get a chance to work on this yet because after i got back from vacation i went on another vacation. I need to figure it out :(
