the truck is a 2003 4 bangwer 5 speed.....


i just bought the ranger up in tahoe from the guy that rolled it and did the cab swap..... it wont turnover from the key.... it has power to the guages and blinkers and all but wont turn over from the key.... i can jump it off the starter and it will turn over.... the neutral saftey switch is not under the dash, its in reach so i push that in so the ecu thinks the clutch is depressed, and still nothning...

any ideas.... im about to put a push button start in it if i cannot figure it out... but i know it is something simple....

if you need it to run right this second pushed it to roll it to a start then pop it into first gear its a ford they have plenty of electical problems but id have to be there to tell you whats wrong good luck!

If your not getting anything from the key, Your starter could have went bad.

 

ok... im gunna pull the starter and bunch test it and have checker test it,....

 

Does that have PATS? It may be preventing it from starting IDK. Could be ignition switch related.

 

I believe there is a starter relay located in the BJB. The power flows from the clutch switch to the relay's coil. The coils ground is controlled by the PCM. If this relay is not functioning properly the starter will not work.
