Hey guys. New member needs help!

Hey guys,
Im somewhat new at this forum ive spent most of my time soaking up as much info as possible but i cannot for the life of me diagnose a problem lately. About a month ago my truck was hitting almost like a rev limiter when accelerating only at about 3k out of nowhere. Occasionally it would go through the gears with no problems but rarely.
Because of a lack of money i just ran it but kept it below 3 grand. After a recent Oil change the problem seems to have gotten better to a point. Now instead of 3k it makes it to about 4,400 rpm then hits the "rev limiter".
when it hits the point my rpms bounce and the truck bucks and lunges like crazy. Ive heard cam syncro but it just doesnt seem to fit the bill. because this is the only problem no ideling or any other issues.
On my scan tool under the transmission monitors the gear indicator would go straight from 1st to 3rd skipping second. which i thought was odd.
I just want see what you guys thought. A kind of second opinion before i start digging in and buyin parts.
Thank you for any help.

On light throttle the trans my skip second, which is 1st+od.

Mileage?
Have you ever serviced the transmission?
Does the OD light blink when it happens?

the truck has about 133k but besides this prob it runs very well.
i just bought the truck in September and have not serviced the tranny myself but the fluid is still ok.
There are no codes at all no lights of any kind come on when it happens.

1st to 3rd is just OD doing its job, better gas mileage or something like that. i doubt its a cam syncro cause there would be more problems than what you've described. does the truck lose power. it sounds like something may be in the tranny. maybe not bad fluid, but something along those lines.

I would drop the pan and put in a new filter, and adjust the bands.

i haven.t felt an loss of power since i got it. Then again the fact i cannot use like 1500 rpm or more the engine has would equal a power loss.
Its not having a single problem with misfiring.
but Bhlde i think ill go with your idea to drop the pan see what happens. if anything its just another part i can take off the list.

Thank you guys for all your input
