Hid questions?

Hey everyone been doing some reading on hids and figured i go ahead and get them for so many reasons. My question is how do i get a kit? Like can i get one off ebay and have it work just as well as anyother kit? How do i know that i have the right kit such as online ive found the 9007 kits will this work in my ranger? Any help with this would be great

Yes, you get the kit matched to your light bulb style (9007) and the ballast plugs into your headlight plug. You then put the actual light into the housing and connect the output of the ballast into it.

I've never done it that way so I assume that's how a headlight specific kit works.

ive ordered 2 kits from them and they messed up both of them on one set they gave me two different ballasts, and the other kit came with 2 different color bulbs. that and it took a month to get the stuff shipped out to me.

That sucks man, thats the first bad thing i've heard about them.

Well then take your pic, you could go with DDM and risk the above problem, or go with Ebay and risk getting a crappy product.

Go with ddm, excellent product but poor customer service. Worth the sacrifice imo

go with eBay. I've bought several kits from them, at $40 shipped for Xentec's and no problems if used right with the proper relay.

You need a 35w HID kit using a 9007 style bulb. All the kits are the same. The only thing different is the base of the bulb depending on your headlight housings. Rangers are 9007. At least yours is.

4,300k is the highest in lumens (light output). It's going to give you the whitest brightest light. But with a small sacrifice of light, you can add the cool "HID" look at 6,000k which I think is just perfect in a ranger. I've run 4,300k, 6,000k and 12,000k headlights, and I found that 6,000k is right about perfect.

In all honesty, if you want to run HID fogs, the only way to go is either 3,000k or the same as the headlights; given what you said you're going to order.

Quality-wise, HID Kits, DEPO Lights, BMW Bumpers & Lighting - DDM Tuning is the way to go.

Shipping time however sucks *****. It depends on how busy they are.

I don't see why anyone would buy from them with all the negativity surrounding them and their company lately.

Why would you wait that long and take crap from a company that treats their customers like crap. I'd rather spend another $40 and get another kit on eBay and still get them before DDM would send me their initial kit.

I went Ebay and didnt have any problems i got the 10k to start off with and loved them but the city cops didnt so i got 8k and havent been bothered since. But if u wanna be legit i would recommend the projector head light housing that pretty recently just came out for newer rangers (that i just ordered from "Dash Z Racing")

Don't buy those ugly 1 piece housings. They're garbage and cheap (though not on the wallet).

Retro-fit your own projectors like a few members have done on here, the results are almost OEM looking.

i ordered from ddm and got both head lights and fog lights both 8k 35w kits and with ground shipping cost me close to 100 bucks i couldnt complain when i looked at other companys. If u read the site i know that they dont have ballasts in till 2-26-10 so i know ill be waiting but in the end it wasnt bad at all. I could have bought headlight kits on ebay for 145 but why id rather wait longer and pay less

There's a company on ebay that you could have gotten both kits shipped for $80... Like I've been saying. DDM is a joke.
