HID's on a 1998?

ok so i want to get some DDM HID's but i have some questions...

1.are the raptor kits as good as the DDM ones?,.....why are they cheaper?
2. ive read that the hi/lo kits arent worth it....are they?
3. how bad will they scatter with stock 1998 heads?...any one have any pics that would be sweet...

thanks

i have the raptor ones they work great. they are cheaper because it's not a slim ballast.

hi/lo is a waste. half the time only one side works lol. youre better off getting the single ones. they are slightly brighter than the low but not quite as bright as the hi

cant help you with the pics on a 98. but i have a pic of mine here

hi/lo....eh i have it on my 02s(different heads i know) it dosent change the intensity, it changes were the lights are thrown...its also slightly more difficult but still an easy install

as for the raptor kit, its cheap for a reason... i would run them for fogs..thats about it.. they are crap. they dont last long and tend to have firnig issues. spend the extra coil and get the slims.

as for scatter, its going to do it, no way around it. unless you do a projector retro fit or buy different housings with them... then they will be better( i really dislike the look of it, but the light out put is much more crisp)

its up to you.

ok raptor is crap...also i think someone on here said they can get the ddm ones for $25 and the hi/lo would only be $10 extra.....would it be worth it then...i dont really care for the extra light...i just want to be able to flash my highbeams if needed.....i know some people say if they did it again they would get just lo's.....but is it just because the hi/lo's arent worth $20 or are they crappier or prone to failure? thanks

The Raptors have the same warranty as the DDMs one don't they?

I've heard the 98 heads glare worse than the 01+ do, which is pretty bad. I would never run them outside of projectors personally.

ok so i am going to get them.....just want to know the difference between the ddm ones and the raptor ones....it says
These full size ballasts are nearly bulletproof; bringing reliability and value in one. Due the the improved reliability, we are able to offer a FREE LIFETIME WARRANTY on our Apexcone Raptor V2s!
does that mean they are more durable than the ddm ones? what makes slim ones better? is it just the size or is there more to it?

I got the Xentec brand. I believe the sellers name is Generalwholesale88 on Ebay where I got them. Thats where alot of my friends got there HIDs. Haven't had a problem with them.

The light doesn't scatter at all IMO.

Only pics I got of front lighting:

the full size rapotor ones like mine are made out of metal. i believe the ddm ones are plastic? don't quote me on that though lol

i've had my raptors 6 months no issues

imho i think they are worth it. look at how much some silverstar halogens are lol. 2x the price. i used to burn through those once every two months in my fogs so cost wise-i am more than happy with my raptor hid's
