here are my HID's they are 8000k-2 so they have highbeam with a halogen 100w bulb with the HID bulb unlike some of the hid kits that dont have high beam.

i also have the 8000k in my foglights.

they are them best light i have ever had and they work awesome at night/rain/snow you can always see them they dont blend into the ground like some halogen bulbs.

Guys, I don't know squat about these things. Are they a "bolt on" type of mod? Meaning you just replace the bulb with this thing and maybe splice the two wires leading to the buld? no need to replace the lens? What about more heat than the stock ones give off?

I'm getting these for the Ranger (mine is a 98):
http://www.stangmods.com/Mustang-Bi-...68-bixenon.htm
I talked to the guy and he stated it will work for the ranger because it uses the 9007 Bulb. What is special about these is you can have a high beam and low beam (something you need in Texas to pass inspection). THere are cheaper kits, but they don't have the high beam/low beam feature. As far as installing it, it is "plug and play," no cutting, drilling, splicing, etc. The only thing complicated is you have to mount the ballast (a little box thing) per light. With this kit you can go back to regular lights if you have to.

my kit was basically a set of bulbs, and a set of ballasts. the bulbs fit with no modifications into the stock headlight housings, and from there, they plug into the ballasts. the ballasts then plug into the stock headlight harness.

VERY easy.

fyi, i got an ebay kit for like $120 and havent had any problems.
