HID's in trouble
HID's in trouble
ok i've run into that most common problem i've searched around the net and have found nothing on how to disable the DRL's on the newer canadian ford ranger trucks, i know that there is no seperate fuse or relay or module for these anymore and that they now run through the smart junction box however no one has mentioned how we can fix this now. the simple answer is to depress the parking brake until the light on the dash comes on however then i get a warning sound every time i drive it, so it comes down to this i don't want to disable the DRL but i want to change its location for example instead of the headlights being the drl i'd have some small amber or extra fog lights be the drl. please someone have an answer for this.
not to sure if they do i just bought a regular set from the local china shop there bright as hell but they have the DRL problem. someone mentioned i might be able to get ford to turn them off with the computer but because i'm in canada i'mnot to usre if they would for legal reasons.
i just had a thought the whole problem is that the DRL's give off 6 watts which isn't enough for the HID's but it is enough for the 12 watt relay to activate so is there a way i could put maybe a strain on the wire before the relay to lower to a point were it wouldnt activate the relay.
