How hot do HID ballasts get?

My HID kit will be here today, so I will be putting it in today after I get it. The thing is, it doesn't come with the mounting brackets like some of the other kits do. It has threaded holes to bolt it onto a spot with, but I'm not sure if I'll be mount them cleanly and kinda hidden if I do that. Thats why I want to know how hot they get, I might just use a bunch of heavy duty velcro to hold it on or maybe even get down right ghetto and use a couple zipties if I can find a good hidden spot. But I obviously don't want to do that if the ballast gets any hotter then just slightly warm to the touch.

Heres a big picture of the ballast (not my pic, or the companies pic but the ballast is the same)

Double sided tape FTW lol . . . easy you can mount them anywhere and you dont have to worry about where you mount them.

I used double sided tape and zip ties. They are right on my shroud that directs air in...I have no idea what it's called

I'm just hoping the double sided tape holds the ballasts to my quad.

I don't trust that. I have a friend with them on his quad, he zip tied them AND double taped and the last time he washed he saw some of the zip ties broke...we ride hard :)

Well my plan was to mount them to the tool storage compartment but the wires aren't long enough to reach it. I was thinking about just taping them to the inside of the plastics but guess not. I'll have to figure something else out.

Why don't you solder longer wires on?

I don't have a soldering iron and I really don't feel like messing with the connections to bulb.
