Strange CB Problem

I've had a Uniden CB for quite a while now. It always worked great before I put in my aftermarket stereo. I put that stereo in about 8 months ago but I haven't use the CB part (I use the PA) since then. Well tonight I tried to and when I key up my voice plays back through my stereo whether I'm playing a CD or if I'm listening to the radio. When the radio is off there aren't any problems. What could cause this?

I could be wrong but i think its interferance between the radio power and the cb power. where is your cb power coming from-anywhere near your radio power? Usually the aftermarket radios require more power and somehow because of this interfere with the cb radios.
Sometimes a better ground with the cb helps
just an idea anyways

Check your antenna for improper ground or poor coax. Cheap coax has poor insulation. Also those Firerings from firstik are ok but they still are not the best for a good ground and connection to your antenna. Also if your SWR is high the power is being reflected back to your CB and it is finding any way out of the radio.

So those are a few things I would check for, A nice solid proper ground on your antenna. Good Coax. Copper electronics sells RG8 mini for .23c a foot. and they sell the coax connectors for a good price as well.

Just remember if your radio causes any interference by I think its fcc law part 15 its your duty to make sure your signal does not interfere with any device. Not meaning to sound like a party pooper or anything of the sort. Just hate to see anyone get nailed for something.

also make sure the head unit or any amps have a nice heavy ground to them.
