Yep, the new ones are Gen 2 and they both will flip the screen sideways when doing certain things.

Only in certain applications. Safari you can turn it, iTunes you can turn it. It all depends on the application. But yes both gens have the accelerometer.

Once the jailbreak for the gen 2s comes out I'll get it.

lol i will prob do it as well once you can do it on the gen 2. i don't really care much for the apps though i just use it for music and video.

gen 2 has a built in mini speaker (not loud at all) and ummmm I don't know haha

Mine is pretty loud, I have it on when I'm in the garage and its sufficient. It works great for playing games and such.
