i read somewhere that you can change your stock halogen bulbs in your kc lights to hid bulbs? how do u do this?

 

If you order the correct HID bulb it will just be like changing the headlights to HID

EDIT: Unless the KC Daylighter has a sealed bulb

 

Order a H3 HID kit and wire it up.

 

where would i go about getting an h3 hid kit? and is it just plug and play?

ok so i got to this...

now i need the h3 bulbs? and is this really worth it, are they going to be as bright or brighter and longer range than my stock bulbs? ive got the 130w long range lights...
and it says this for the 55w bulbs "Our 55w HID Kit is not recommended for smaller fog light housings because they tend to concentrate a large amount of heat in a small area." can i use these in my 6" diameter housings?

I would imagine you can use the 55w kit because the housing is metal and the lenses are glass. I have been thinking about switching mine to HID.

 

ya but that mirror finish can peel and maybe melt but idk. i just wanna find out if there going to be as bright or brighter. b/c they are already bright as hell, would just rather have hid's in em lol

Yea they were the 130w. I only had the halogens in for a short time, but the HIDs are definitely brighter. The distance...never tested distance with the halogen, but the HIDs give a good long beam, the building in this pic is a little over 300 ft. away

If the Daylighter you're using is 150w, you're SOL. The 150w are sealed bulbs. You need a 130w or 100w Daylighter to begin with because they use H3 bulbs. All you need is a single beam HID kit for H3 bulbs and maybe drill out a bigger wire pass-through hole on the back of the lamp housing and you're done.

This CANNOT be done to KC slimlites(aka the anorexic sister of the obese daylighter). The housings are just not fat enough for the length of the HID bulbs.

 

ya ive got the 130w long range daylighters, not the slim lights. but is the above posted link for the hid kit good? there cheap so idk if there gunna be as good as the expensive ones
