leaking oil pressure switch?

I am new to this forum, but I could use some help.
I have an 2002 2.3 L.
It had a oil leak around the filter area. I bought a new sender assuming that was the leak.
I also changed the filter and oil today.
well, the new sender was pouring a steady stream of oil after installed, from around the threads.
I first thought that I over tightened the sender and it had a crack in it, bit i put it in a pipe fitting and hooked it to an air compressor, and there is no air leak, so the sender is not cracked.

I am now worried that the filter adapter is cracked. I cant immagine that I didnt have the sender tight enough when I installed it.
has anyone had an issue with the filter adapter cracking on them.
and are the threads a taper pipe thread, or does the sender seat against a seat in the bottom.
THanks for any help.

Problem solved!

problem solved.
The oil filter adapter did have a crack in it just above the sender.
I got under the truck today with a mirror and had the wife start it.
I called the ford garage and the new adapter and gasket will be here tomorrow. a little over 50 bucks.
