major electrical issues

On friday my brake lights were not working, looked at fuses, replaced bulbs, nothing. So I moved on to the brake switch, checked the wiring (not sure if its bad or not) while doing this my battery died on me a couple of times. now I have no door chime, gauges are not working, 4x4 will not engage and having trouble shifting out of park, I had to turn the truck off, and then i eventually got it to shift into neutral and then started it, also I noticed that my scangauge is not on, so I am assuming no power is getting to the ODBII port as well. I read somewhere that when the battery dies it can effect the 4x4 control module? and I am still not sure if the brake switch is bad or not, anyone have any ideas? I do not want to start replacing expensive parts like the 4x4 module if I am not sure if it is bad. Thanks, I hate electrical problems.

found out that one of the maxi fuses had a hairline crack, it was replaced and everything started working again, as far as the brake lights, one of the wires came loose in the connector, redid the wiring and brakelights are back working again

While you were at it you should have checked the grounds in the rear and redid them also.
