1997 Ranger 4cyl

came home one night, killed it went inside...

woke up next morning went out to go to work and.....

CLICK......

battery still has juice(check by auto parts store)

turn the key and one"click" is all you get...

guages work headlights all electric seem to work...

tried to jump the solenoid but cant seem to get a reaction...

jumped across to "big" posts with a screw driver....hmmmm

pushed in the clutch with a hammer while doing that and nothing still...

When I jump the solenoid do I need the key in the "start" position or just the "run" position...

this thing never gave me a warning just stopped...

HELP

 

and also.....

I went to just replace solenoid since its only 15 bucks...

get home and its a four post solenoid and mine is a 3 post....

I have a huge terminal that goes to the to large posts...

a large black wire that goes to the bottom large post...

and a small red that goes to the rear small post...
