Mysterious Front End Noise Resolved

Now I know that this is not a Mercedes that I am driving but I want perfection.

I have had a front-end noise for some time now and I finally did an adequate inspection. I got the front wheels in the air and was pushing and pulling and noticed that with lateral movement I had a clunk. My passenger tie rod lock down bolt was loose. I imagine that when they did my last alignment they did not tighten it down enough or somehow some way it got loose. So just something to check out if you have some front-end noise. I was perplexed a bit as my whole front end is new including inner and outer tie rods. (new means under 10k miles ago and I don't drive the truck much). New is a relative term as well as I have been performing a ground-up restoration of the vehicle for years now.

Just remember the power of a good inspection and have fun keeping your 3 thousand dollar truck in immaculate working condition and save yourself enough money to afford the assisted living home at the end of life. (I live in Phoenix and it just got hot again so I am not that optimistic about my future, this feeling of doom will ware off in 90 days)

Happy Wrenching,

BOB
