need help with Airbag light plug.

Hey so my airbag light flashes and then is steady, I have been reading on her and other places that it most commonly is the plug under the seat and that it has some dirt on it. The only problem is that I cant find the plug, I've search for hours on both passenger and drivers side and still cant find it. If you guys can give me a better description of how to find it, and maybe use pictures that would be great! thanks!

The plugs must be there. They are little dinky ones. They are part of the seat belt connections. The SEAT BELT CONNECTED electrical circuit ties in with the air bag circuitry. I guess the Gremlin that operates the life saving feature of a vehicle figures if there is nobody wearing a seat belt, what is the sense in wasting an air bag.

I still can't find them. So they are directly connected to the seat belt connectors?

What code are you getting? Count the flashes. How many fast and slow. If you have a key to turn off the passenger air bag, it could be that the bulb is burned out. I believe that is 2-7.

I believe the plug is only on the Drivers seat belt buckle. At least my 98 and every other 98-2002 Rangers I've worked on never had one on the passenger seat. The 04+ Rangers (might be some earlier years I'm not sure when it started exactly) have seat belt pre tensioners in both seats, those plugs are known for having bad connections.

I would check and make sure the bulb in the passenger air bag turn off switch thing is not blown. When that bulb quits working it also sets off the air bag light.

Here's a topic talking about it. https://www.ranger-forums.com/genera...ld-why-108678/

the plug you are looking for is for the pretensioner. it didn't get added until 01 or 02. i would count the flashes, it will tell you exactly what it is. more than likely the bulb is burnt out on the passenger side control switch.
