No brake lights

This is on a '98 Ranger. Checked fuses and bulbs with an ohm meter and all checked out good. Can anyone point me in the direction of a common cause of my problem? TIA!!!!

Brake light switch up near the brake pedal bar drivers side not engine side.
When brake pedal is pushed in. the switch's button is released and sends voltage to brake lights.
So 0 OHMs brake pedal pushed, high OHMs(infinite) foot off the brake.

Should be 12volts at this switch all the time, it is not key on/off powered.

Although if you have a Power Saver Relay power to the brake light switch would be off after 20 minutes with key off doors closed.
