Daytime running lights stay on
I have a 2010 Ranger 4x4 with 162000 km (100,000 miles) and yesterday when I got to work, the DRL stayed on even after I had turned off the headlights, applied the parking brake and turned the ignition key off. I turned the lights on and off and did the same with the ignition and parking brake and after a few tries, the DRLs eventually turned off. The same thing happened when I got home last night but after a few attempts, I just diconnected the battery so that I could sleep without worrying. The truck is going in to the dealer in 2 weeks for rear/emergency brakes so they can look at this problem then. I was just wondering if this was a common issue? BTW the temp outside was -16C (0F)

there is a negative ground switch attached to the parking brake mount
check to see if that switch is sticking in the closed position ( the DRL module is constantly powered ) the parking brake when dis-engaged it will allow the switch to close the negative connection allowing power to flow to the headlights

I see the wiring so I will check that out after I shovel some more snow! hahaha! Although I didn't buy the Ranger there, I like Reliable. They do good work, their rates are competitive, nice people to deal with and very important for me......service is open on Saturdays!
