OHC light issue?

Hey everyone I finished up my ohc install last week. It's pretty sweet! much easier than I thought it was going to be. It fits right up against my headliner with no gaps and makes the truck look so much better. The temp. gauge was only off 1 degree from my phone. But I have a few questions still:

I pulled this from a 97 explorer and the display kinda looks green as opposed to the blue I thought it was supposed to be. seems blueish-green but maybe because I want it to be blue lol.

next issue when I hit the light button closest to the me (driver side) the light shines over at the passenger side and vise-versa when you hit the opposite light button. Is this right?

Other issue is when I open the door, only the dome light comes on and no lights from the ohc, unless you would press the light button.

Thanks for any help everyone.

Thats right. The lights are angled in such a way that the passenger side one shines towards the drivers side and vise versa. If the lights in the console aren't coming on when the dome light comes on perhaps you have a bad connection into the dome light wiring or something...might want to get in there and re-check.

1.) You can change out the lens to blue from green.
2.) As stated above the lights are angled.
3.) You have a wired wrong somewhere or bad connection. Double check on the how too.

the blue lens lights up bluish green. pretty much teal. i don't even know why they call it blue. looks blue against the light, but as soon as the lcd lights up, it's not blue.

The light should illuminate the side you press. So if you press the driver side button the light should shine so you could read a map on the drivers side. If the light shines on the pass side something is up with that.

the lights are angled...IE the passenger side light is angled towards the driver's seat, and the driver side light is angled towards the passenger seat. so when you press the driver side button, the passenger light comes on. mine was this way until i put Buggman's LEDs in.

Nope...the passenger side light is angled towards the drivers side so when you press the driver map light button, the passenger side bulb lights and shines light towards the driver and vise versa.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. Yeah, when I press the lamp buttons the lights work, but it doesn't come on automatically when the door is open. I'll have to get in there and see what's up. well looks like everything else is alright then. thanks again.

Resolved! Just went in and checked it out. the one tap connector wasn't pushed all the down against the wire to make a good connection.

You realize that is what i said. You press a button and you can read a map on the side you are sitting.
