Ohc temperature problems
Well my over head console in my truck is screwed up the temperature isnt working right on my way back to college tonight it said 1 the whole way but when i went past 2 banks the one bank said 22 and farther down the road it said 13 but when i passed both of them my truck said 1. i dont have the gem wire hooked up because i was never told where to put it because my truck doesnt have the gem. so what else can i do?

Do the 95 and older models have a cable driven speedometer? If not, there must be a wire feeding the speedometer. You just need to figure that out. Without a source of power to that wire, the temperature won't move. It prevents heat soak when the vehicle isn't moving.
Essentially, when the speed sensor input has no voltage applied, the temperature is locked.

We have no VSS wire but heres what i did. I wired that wire up to a acc. power source so that when i turned my car on it was tricked into thinking im always moving. But you have to mount the temp sensor away from engine heat i mounted mine on the outside of the fender well and it has worked fine ever since.
